Job Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized instruction for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Teach communication methods such as American Sign Language (ASL), auditory training, and speech reading.
  • Adapt curriculum and classroom materials to meet individual student needs.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, and school psychologists to support student learning.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments to track academic progress and communication development.
  • Provide support with assistive listening devices and hearing technology.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and educational strategies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with state and federal special education regulations.
