School Nurse (SN) Job in San Leandro, CA

Overview

Job Responsibilities

• Provide first aid, emergency care, and daily health support to students
• Administer medications and monitor student health conditions as prescribed
• Develop and implement Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and emergency care plans
• Support students with chronic illnesses, disabilities, and special medical needs
• Conduct health screenings such as vision, hearing, and immunization compliance
• Maintain accurate student health records and confidential documentation
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and healthcare providers regarding student care
• Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate appropriate follow-up care
• Promote health education, hygiene, and wellness programs in the school
• Ensure compliance with school policies and state health regulations
• Support infection prevention and campus safety protocols
• Participate in IEP and 504 meetings when health-related input is required
