Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized instructional plans based on students' learning needs and IEP goals.
  • Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in accordance with their educational plans.
  • Adapt curriculum, instructional materials, assignments, and classroom activities to support individual learning needs.
  • Implement appropriate accommodations, modifications, differentiated instruction, and evidence-based teaching strategies.
  • Monitor and document students' academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and functional progress.
  • Maintain accurate student records, progress reports, instructional documentation, and other required educational records.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development, implementation, and review of measurable IEP goals.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, school administrators, and other multidisciplinary team members.
  • Use positive behavior support strategies and classroom management techniques to maintain a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Provide appropriate support to students as they develop communication, self-advocacy, independence, and functional skills.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, educational needs, and areas of development.
  • Follow school policies, professional standards, special education requirements, and applicable California regulations.
