Job Responsibilities

Provide specialized instruction to students with visual impairments
Assess students’ functional vision and learning needs
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Adapt instructional materials into accessible formats (Braille, large print, audio, digital)
Teach compensatory skills, orientation, mobility awareness, and independent living skills
Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and related service providers
Recommend and support the use of assistive technology and adaptive equipment
Monitor and document student academic and functional progress
Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team planning
Ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations
