Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs for students with visual impairments.
  • Provide direct instruction in academic subjects, orientation and mobility, Braille literacy, and functional skills.
  • Adapt curriculum and materials to meet the unique needs of visually impaired students.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, families, and support staff to facilitate inclusive learning.
  • Implement and monitor the use of assistive technology and accessible instructional materials.
  • Assess student progress and maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, staff development, and professional learning opportunities.
  • Advocate for the academic, social, and emotional needs of students with visual impairments.
