Overview

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized instructional plans for students with visual impairments.
• Provide specialized instruction in individual, small-group, and classroom settings.
• Implement and monitor students’ IEP goals, accommodations, and support strategies.
• Adapt curriculum and instructional materials for accessible learning.
• Teach skills related to academic access, organization, and independence.
• Support students in developing functional and independent-living skills.
• Monitor and document student progress toward educational goals.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, orientation and mobility specialists, and related service professionals.
• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
• Communicate with families regarding student progress and educational needs.
• Maintain accurate student records and required documentation.
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
