Job Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized instruction to students with visual impairments
  • Assess students’ functional vision and learning needs
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Adapt instructional materials into accessible formats (Braille, large print, audio, digital)
  • Teach compensatory skills, orientation, mobility awareness, and independent living skills
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and related service providers
  • Recommend and support the use of assistive technology and adaptive equipment
  • Monitor and document student academic and functional progress
  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team planning
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations

Job Schedule
