Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct speech, language, and communication assessments to identify students’ individual needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized speech and language intervention plans.
  • Provide direct individual and small-group speech and language therapy services.
  • Support students with articulation, receptive and expressive language, fluency, voice, and social communication needs.
  • Provide communication strategies and classroom support based on student needs.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust intervention strategies based on data and ongoing assessment.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential evaluation reports, treatment records, progress notes, and other required documentation.
  • Develop and monitor speech and language goals as part of students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Participate in IEP meetings and provide professional recommendations regarding speech and language services.
  • Collaborate with special education teachers, general education teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers.
  • Recommend appropriate accommodations, communication strategies, and classroom supports.
  • Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress, needs, and recommended strategies.
  • Support students’ functional communication, classroom participation, confidence, and independence.
  • Follow professional standards, school policies, special education requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, inclusive, and student-centered therapy environment.
