Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and communication assessments to identify students' individual needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized speech and language intervention plans aligned with student goals and IEP requirements.
  • Provide individual and small-group speech and language therapy services in a school-based setting.
  • Address areas such as articulation, fluency, receptive and expressive language, social communication, and functional communication.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust therapeutic strategies based on assessment results and ongoing performance.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation, treatment records, progress reports, and other required service records.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute professional recommendations regarding speech and language goals, services, accommodations, and supports.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, families, administrators, and other related service providers.
  • Recommend appropriate communication strategies, classroom supports, and accommodations to improve student participation and learning.
  • Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress, treatment recommendations, and ongoing communication needs.
  • Support students in developing functional communication, confidence, independence, and effective participation in the school environment.
  • Follow professional standards, school policies, special education requirements, and applicable California regulations.
