Occupational Therapist Job in Irvine, CA (SY 2026–27)

Overview

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and assessments to identify students’ functional needs.
• Develop individualized occupational therapy goals and intervention plans based on assessment findings.
• Provide direct occupational therapy services in accordance with student needs and established plans.
• Support students with fine motor, visual-motor, sensory processing, coordination, and functional school-related skills.
• Provide therapeutic activities and interventions designed to improve classroom participation and independence.
• Support students in developing skills needed for classroom routines, learning activities, and daily school tasks.
• Monitor student progress and adjust intervention strategies as appropriate.
• Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Contribute to the development and review of IEP goals related to occupational therapy and functional performance.
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, families, administrators, and related service providers.
• Recommend appropriate accommodations, adaptive equipment, positioning strategies, or classroom supports when needed.
• Provide consultation and recommendations to help students participate effectively in classroom activities.
• Maintain accurate therapy records, progress notes, evaluations, and other required documentation.
• Follow school policies, special education procedures, professional standards, and applicable regulations.
• Promote a positive, supportive, and inclusive environment that encourages student independence and participation.
