Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH)
  • Provide specialized instruction using appropriate communication methods (e.g., American Sign Language, oral communication, total communication)
  • Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet students’ hearing and learning needs
  • Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support student success
  • Support students’ language, speech, and social development
  • Utilize assistive listening devices and technology to enhance learning
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Provide consultation and resources to staff regarding DHH best practices
  • Create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
