Job Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with visual impairments.
Provide specialized instruction based on individual academic, functional, and developmental needs.
Adapt curriculum, instructional materials, and classroom activities to improve accessibility.
Provide instruction and support with Braille, assistive technology, and other accessible learning tools when appropriate.
Support students in developing academic, communication, functional, and independent living skills.
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate educational records and progress reports.
Recommend and implement appropriate accommodations, modifications, and accessibility strategies.
Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, families, orientation and mobility specialists, and related service providers.
Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary meetings, and student support planning.
Provide consultation regarding accessible materials, classroom environments, and instructional approaches.
Communicate with families regarding student progress, educational needs, and support strategies.
Maintain a safe, inclusive, accessible, and supportive learning environment.
Follow applicable special education requirements, school policies, and professional standards.
