Overview

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct occupational therapy evaluations to identify students' functional, motor, sensory, and educational needs.
• Develop individualized occupational therapy goals and intervention plans based on evaluation results.
• Provide direct occupational therapy services through individual or small-group sessions as appropriate.
• Address fine motor, gross motor, sensory processing, visual-motor, coordination, and functional skill development.
• Support students with classroom participation, handwriting, self-care, and other school-related functional activities.
• Develop or recommend appropriate accommodations, modifications, adaptive equipment, and therapeutic strategies.
• Participate in IEP development and provide occupational therapy input regarding student goals and services.
• Monitor student progress and adjust intervention strategies based on ongoing needs and performance.
• Maintain accurate evaluation reports, treatment notes, progress records, and required documentation.
• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
• Collaborate with special education teachers, general education teachers, families, administrators, and related service providers.
• Provide consultation and recommendations to support students across classroom and school environments.
• Promote student independence, confidence, and meaningful participation in educational activities.
• Follow school policies, professional standards, confidentiality requirements, and applicable California regulations.
