Overview

Job Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students based on their individual educational and behavioral needs.
• Assist students with academic, social, communication, behavioral, and functional skill development.
• Implement behavioral strategies and individualized support plans under the direction of appropriate educational or behavioral professionals.
• Support students in following classroom routines, schedules, and transitions.
• Assist with classroom activities, instructional tasks, and educational programs.
• Reinforce positive behaviors, self-regulation, communication, and independence skills.
• Collect and record student data as directed by the supervising teacher, BCBA, or other qualified professional.
• Follow Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), classroom strategies, and individualized student support procedures.
• Collaborate with special education teachers, BCBAs, general education staff, therapists, and other related service providers.
• Support students during transitions, group activities, and other school-based routines.
• Promote a safe, respectful, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
• Maintain student confidentiality and follow school policies and established procedures.
• Communicate relevant student observations and progress with supervising staff.
