Speech/Language Pathologist Assistants (SLPA) jobs in San Rafael, CA

Overview

Job Responsibilities

• Assist the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist with implementing individualized speech and language treatment plans.
• Provide individual and small-group therapy activities under the direction and supervision of an SLP.
• Support students with articulation, receptive and expressive language, fluency, social communication, and other identified communication needs.
• Follow established therapy strategies and activities based on each student’s goals and service plan.
• Collect and record accurate data regarding student participation, performance, and progress.
• Maintain timely documentation of therapy sessions and assigned speech-language services.
• Assist with preparing appropriate therapy materials, communication supports, and classroom resources.
• Collaborate with SLPs, special education teachers, general education staff, families, and other school professionals.
• Reinforce communication strategies across classroom and educational activities when appropriate.
• Support students in developing functional communication skills and participating more effectively in school routines.
• Communicate relevant observations and student progress to the supervising SLP.
• Maintain student confidentiality and follow applicable school policies, professional standards, and service requirements.
