Job Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on individual student needs.
Provide specialized instruction for students with visual impairments.
Adapt curriculum, instructional materials, and classroom activities to ensure accessibility.
Provide or support the use of Braille, assistive technology, and other accessible learning resources when appropriate.
Support students in developing academic, functional, communication, and independent living skills.
Monitor academic and functional progress and maintain accurate student records.
Provide recommendations regarding accommodations, modifications, accessibility, and instructional supports.
Collaborate with general education teachers, special education professionals, families, orientation and mobility specialists, and related service providers.
Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and educational needs.
Use appropriate instructional strategies to promote student engagement, independence, and participation.
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and accessible learning environment.
Follow school policies, special education requirements, and professional standards.
