Job Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on students’ unique educational needs.
Provide specialized instruction that supports academic achievement, communication, functional skills, and student independence.
Adapt curriculum, classroom materials, assignments, and instructional activities to ensure accessible learning.
Provide appropriate accessible materials and resources, including Braille, large-print materials, tactile resources, and assistive technology when applicable.
Assess student needs and use appropriate instructional strategies to support learning and classroom participation.
Monitor academic, developmental, functional, and independent-living progress and maintain accurate records.
Prepare progress reports and other documentation related to student services and educational goals.
Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and student support planning.
Collaborate with general education teachers, special education professionals, families, administrators, orientation and mobility specialists, and related service providers.
Recommend and implement appropriate accommodations, modifications, adaptive tools, and accessibility supports.
Encourage students to develop confidence, independence, communication skills, and effective learning strategies.
Maintain a safe, respectful, inclusive, and accessible classroom environment.
Communicate with families regarding student progress, educational needs, and recommended support strategies.
Follow applicable special education regulations, school policies, and professional standards.
