Overview

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and other behavioral assessments as appropriate.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
• Analyze behavioral and performance data to identify patterns, measure progress, and guide intervention decisions.
• Provide evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies based on individual student needs.
• Monitor the effectiveness of behavioral interventions and modify strategies when appropriate.
• Support students in developing positive behaviors, communication, social skills, independence, and classroom participation.
• Collaborate with special education teachers, general education teachers, families, administrators, and related service providers.
• Participate in IEP meetings and provide behavioral information and recommendations to support student goals.
• Provide consultation and behavioral guidance to school staff working directly with students.
• Support staff in implementing behavior intervention strategies and positive behavior supports.
• Maintain accurate behavioral records, data collection, progress documentation, and required reports.
• Promote proactive classroom strategies that encourage positive engagement and reduce barriers to learning.
• Follow professional ethical standards, school policies, confidentiality requirements, and applicable special education procedures.
• Communicate effectively with families and multidisciplinary teams regarding behavioral progress and support strategies.
