Overview

Job Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing and health services to students during the school day.
• Assess student health needs and provide appropriate nursing interventions.
• Administer medications and treatments according to authorized healthcare orders and school policies.
• Develop and maintain individualized healthcare plans when required.
• Monitor students with chronic health conditions and other ongoing medical needs.
• Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date student health records.
• Respond appropriately to illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies.
• Provide first aid and emergency care within the scope of professional practice.
• Communicate with parents, guardians, teachers, administrators, and healthcare providers regarding student health needs.
• Support students who require specialized healthcare assistance during the school day.
• Participate in student support and multidisciplinary meetings when health-related input is needed.
• Promote healthy habits, wellness, safety, and age-appropriate health education.
• Follow school procedures, professional nursing standards, confidentiality requirements, and applicable health and safety guidelines.
