Overview

Job Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students during classroom activities and school routines.
• Assist students with academic, communication, social, behavioral, and functional skill development.
• Implement behavior-support strategies and individualized intervention plans under the direction of appropriate school professionals.
• Support the implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and other student-specific strategies.
• Use positive reinforcement and proactive approaches to encourage appropriate classroom behavior.
• Collect and record student data related to academic performance, behavior, participation, and progress.
• Assist students with transitions, routines, classroom activities, and other school-based tasks.
• Encourage students to develop independence, self-regulation, communication, and social skills.
• Support students during individual, small-group, and classroom learning activities.
• Collaborate with special education teachers, BCBAs, therapists, administrators, and other members of the educational team.
• Follow individualized student plans, classroom procedures, and professional guidance.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
• Communicate relevant observations and student progress to supervising staff.
• Maintain student confidentiality and follow school policies and applicable special education requirements.
