Speech/Language Pathologist Assistants (SLPA) job in San Leandro, CA

Overview

Job Responsibilities

• Assist the supervising Speech Language Pathologist with delivering school-based speech and language services.
• Provide individual and small-group therapy activities under the direction of the supervising SLP.
• Implement assigned treatment activities targeting students’ speech, language, and communication goals.
• Support students with articulation, receptive and expressive language, fluency, and social communication needs.
• Follow individualized treatment plans and therapy strategies developed by the supervising SLP.
• Collect and record student performance data during therapy sessions and assigned activities.
• Maintain accurate service documentation, session notes, and progress information.
• Prepare therapy materials, communication supports, and activities as directed by the supervising SLP.
• Reinforce functional communication skills during classroom routines and educational activities.
• Collaborate with SLPs, special education teachers, classroom staff, and related service providers.
• Communicate relevant observations and student progress to the supervising SLP.
• Support students in developing communication skills that promote classroom participation and independence.
• Maintain student confidentiality and follow applicable school, professional, and special education requirements.
