Occupational Therapist Job in San Leandro, CA

Overview

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct occupational therapy evaluations to identify students’ functional, developmental, and educational needs.
• Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy intervention plans.
• Provide direct occupational therapy services through individual or small-group sessions as appropriate.
• Address fine motor, gross motor, sensory processing, visual-motor, coordination, self-care, and functional classroom skills.
• Support students in developing skills needed for classroom participation and access to educational activities.
• Contribute to IEP development and provide occupational therapy recommendations aligned with student goals.
• Implement appropriate accommodations, modifications, adaptive equipment, and environmental supports.
• Monitor student progress and adjust intervention strategies based on ongoing performance and needs.
• Maintain accurate therapy documentation, service records, progress reports, and required student information.
• Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and student support planning.
• Collaborate with special education teachers, general education staff, families, administrators, and related service providers.
• Provide consultation and practical strategies to help staff support students’ functional and participation needs.
• Promote student independence, confidence, safety, and successful participation in school routines.
• Follow professional standards, school policies, confidentiality requirements, and applicable special education guidelines.
