Job Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students based on their individual educational and behavioral needs.
  • Assist students with academic activities, classroom assignments, routines, transitions, and school-based tasks.
  • Implement established behavioral strategies and individualized intervention plans under appropriate supervision.
  • Support students with communication, social, academic, adaptive, and functional skill development.
  • Reinforce positive behaviors, self-regulation, appropriate communication, and classroom participation.
  • Follow Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and other individualized student support strategies.
  • Collect and document student behavior, academic performance, participation, and progress data as directed.
  • Monitor student engagement and communicate relevant observations to supervising teachers and school professionals.
  • Assist students during classroom activities, group instruction, transitions, recess, lunch, and other school routines as assigned.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, social interaction, and appropriate classroom behaviors.
  • Collaborate with special education teachers, BCBAs, therapists, administrators, and other educational team members.
  • Help maintain a safe, structured, respectful, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student documentation.
  • Follow school policies, safety procedures, individualized plans, and applicable special education requirements.
