Overview

Job Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students based on their individual educational and behavioral needs.
• Assist students with academic activities, classroom routines, communication, social interaction, and functional skills.
• Implement behavioral strategies and interventions under the direction of qualified teachers, BCBAs, or other supervising professionals.
• Support the implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and individualized student support strategies.
• Reinforce positive behaviors, appropriate social interactions, communication, and self-regulation skills.
• Assist students during classroom activities, transitions, recess, lunch, and other school routines as assigned.
• Collect and record relevant student behavior, participation, and progress data.
• Help students develop independence, functional skills, confidence, and appropriate classroom behaviors.
• Collaborate with special education teachers, BCBAs, therapists, classroom staff, and other school professionals.
• Provide consistent support during transitions and changes in classroom activities or routines.
• Maintain a safe, structured, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
• Share relevant student observations and progress information with supervising staff.
• Follow individualized plans, classroom procedures, school policies, confidentiality requirements, and professional guidelines.
• Encourage positive student engagement and participation in educational activities.
